Mojca Čižek Sajko, PhD

Mojca Čižek Sajko, PhD, is a biologist and researcher at the Clinical Institute for Genomic Medicine at the University Medical Center Ljubljana in Slovenia.

She earned her PhD in basic medical sciences, focusing on the in vitro maturation of human oocytes, from the Faculty of Medicine in Ljubljana. As a senior clinical embryologist, Dr. Čižek Sajko has spent many years actively working in the field of human reproduction and has led several IVF laboratories abroad.

During her postdoctoral studies, she gained expertise in biostatistics and served as a teaching assistant in that field at the Institute of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics at the Faculty of Medicine in Ljubljana for several years.

Currently, Dr. Čižek Sajko is the Head of the Quality Unit at the Clinical Institute for Genomic Medicine Ljubljana, where she is responsible for leading the accreditation process for the genetic laboratory in accordance with the ISO 15189 standard. Additionally, she is a member of the research team and actively participates in the Genomics for Personalized Medicine project.
